Macon Police Department News Releases, 30 September 2015:

On 09/22/15, an officer of the Macon Police Department served an active arrest warrant upon a man at the Macon Probation & Parole Office in the 1700 block of Prospect Drive. Police arrested Jonathon Ziegler, 21 of LaPlata, on an active warrant out of Knox County for possession of controlled substance. Ziegler was transported to the Macon County Jail to be held in lieu of $125.00 cash bond.

On 09/22/15 at approximately 11:50pm, Macon Police Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of East Union Street. Police contacted a male and female resident who reported having a verbal dispute. The male subject agreed to leave the residence. No arrests were made in this incident.

On 09/23/15, Macon Police received a report of a shoplifting incident occurring in the 300 block of North Missouri Street at a business. It was reported a male suspect left the business without paying for items. Surveillance video captured a male suspect concealing e-cigarettes on his person prior to leaving the business. Items are valued at approximately $13.00. This case is currently under investigation by the Macon Police Department.

On 09/25/15, the Macon Police Department was assisting Children’s Division on a child abuse/neglect hotline investigation in the 100 block of Lewis Street in Macon. As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 48-year old white male of Macon for endangering the welfare of a child due to living conditions of the residence. The male suspect was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and was later released pending a municipal court date.

On 09/25/15, police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Third Street. As a result, police arrested a 35-year old white male of Macon for domestic assault and property damage. The male suspect was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and was later released on summons pending a municipal court date.

On 09/25/15, a Macon Police Officer was conducting preventive patrol in the area of the city-owned Roundhouse and adjacent properties at approximately 11:40pm when the officer observed a vehicle leaving the park area. The park area is closed after 11:00pm. Police made enforcement contact with the vehicle at that time. As a result of the contact, police arrested an 18-year old white female for violation of park hours (municipal violation), possession of synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also arrested a passenger of the vehicle, a 47-year old black male, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and were later released on summonses pending municipal and Division II court dates.

On 09/26/15, police made enforcement contact with a vehicle in the area of Rollins and Goggin Streets. During the contact, police were notified of an active arrest warrant for the driver of the vehicle. Police arrested Denise L Arnold, 53 of Fenton, on an active arrest warrant out of Shelby County for possession of drug paraphernalia with cash bond of $1,000.00. She was transported to the Macon County Jail to be held in lieu of bond.

On 09/27/15, Macon Police Department made enforcement contact with a vehicle in the 200 block of North Rubey Street. As a result, police arrested a 62-year old white female of Macon for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing and was later released on summons pending a municipal court date.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
