South Shelby School Board Member Submits Resignation
By Mike Scott
A board member of the Shelby County R-IV school district has submitted his resignation, citing personal reasons.
“The big reason is because my work requires a lot of my time. Moving provides more time with my family,” said board member Nate Schoonover of his decision. “The timing wasn’t the best and it’s not the easiest decision, but it’s what is best for my family. This decision has everything to do with my family.”
South Shelby Superintendent Tim Maddex confirmed that he has spoken to Schoonover about the resignation, and that it will be brought to the school board for acceptance at their next meeting, which is August 15.
