Ota Lavina Turner, age 89, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020, at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, MO. She was born on October 08, 1930, in rural Shelbina, MO, the daughter of Warren and Zelma (Whitelock) Wilt. She was married to James Delbert Turner on July 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2015.
Lavina is survived by two children, Cheryl Ann Turner and Terry Lynn Turner both of Shelbina, MO; three grandchildren, Michael C. Cleary of Shelbina, MO, William D. Cleary of Shelbina, MO and Angelina M. Gordan of Macon, MO; one great-grandson, Franklin James Troy Cleary; sisters, Ollie Mae Pfanner, Hazel Willey and Marilyn Smith; brothers, James Henry Wilt, Harold Wilt, and Russell Wilt.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Charlie Wilt.
Lavina was a member of the Shelbina Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will were held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Burial services followed in Shelbina Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
