Lady Raiders Get Easy Win over Novinger

The North Shelby Lady Raiders hosted Novinger, Tuesday, January 7. With a fast start, NS got a victory 67-27.
North Shelby’s Lilly Cook started things off quickly as she stole the ball and put in an easy lay-up. Novinger only scored two points in the first quarter. Four three-pointers were made by NS in the quarter which allowed its lead to rise, 26-2.
“We knew Novinger wasn’t that good and we knew we needed to work on stuff. We came out with the right focus and mentality. I think they all played well and we were able to get a lot of girls in, which is good. I am very proud of the girls,” said North Shelby coach Landon Daniel.
The second quarter wasn’t any different than the first for NS. The Lady Raiders tallied 18 points to their lead.
Novinger attempted to get back into the game in the third quarter putting up 11 points. At the buzzer, North Shelby’s Natalie Thrasher scored a bucket giving NS a 56-17 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Raiders continued to dominate against Novinger.
Leading scorer for NS was Caroline Linberger who tallied 17 points. Ceairra Kirby followed with 13; Natalie Thrasher, 12; Lilly Cook, 11; and Ava Williams scored 10.
