Nettie Belle Thrasher

Nettie Belle Thrasher, age 90, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Salt River Community Care of Shelbina, MO.

Nettie was born on August 30, 1929 in Bismark, North Dakota, the daughter of Alfred Ross and Christian Evelyn (Glamsher) Arisman.  She was united in marriage to Raymond Thrasher on January 10, 1948 in Shelbina, MO. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2002.

She is survived by five children, Darold R. Thrasher (Deloris) of Holliday, MO, Donna M. Dennis (Larry) of Shelbina, MO, Berna F. Kotsenburg (Nellis) of Paris, MO, Dennis W. Thrasher (Jimmi)  of New Cambria, MO and Leslie Thrasher (Connie) of Clarence, MO; grandchildren, Vaughn, Ashley, Darin, LouRae, Marcia, Maria, Lance, Doddie, Chad, Ryan, Randon, Dwayne, Tracy, Selena, Travis, Sheila, Valerie and Eric; 36 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva June Reidinger of Hannibal, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son, Donnie Thrasher; grandson, Curtis Dennis; two sisters, Lorraine, and twin-sister, Betty Sue; and one brother, Otis. 

Nettie was a member of the Clarence Christian Church and volunteered at the local Food Bank. She and her husband, Raymond, spent many years farming and raising livestock.  She enjoyed trail riding, fishing and hunting, swimming and sking, and cooking.  She especially loved to bake for her family, making her famous homemade potato rolls, cinnamon rolls, pie crust and ice cream.  

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Following the service, burial will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, MO.
