Billy Ray Arment
Billy Ray Arment, age 80, of Barnett, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home. He was born October 31, 1939 in Kirksville, Missouri, a son of the late George E. and Hazel D. (Lindsey) Arment.
Billy was a United States Air Force veteran having served from 1957 to 1961.
He worked in maintenance for the State Highway Department for 27 years until his retirement. Later, he served as the Eastern District Commissioner for six years and the Presiding Commissioner for two years in Morgan County.
He was a member of the Morgan County Democratic Club, the Mid Missouri Democratic Club and served as board president for the Golden Beach Community Center for many years.
He is survived by his children, Billy Arment and wife Renee of Leesburg, Florida, Brenda Guerin and husband Maurice of Placitas, New Mexico, Donnie Arment and wife Ginger of Versailles, Missouri and Tricia Anderson and husband Mark of Versailles, Missouri; grandchildren, James, Ryan, Ashley, Zach, Echo, Brihannon, Jordan, Kristopher and Madyson; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Katelynn, Brooklynn, Sawyer, Coen, Case, Cutler, Kennedi, Dallas, Zachariah, Lexah, Lily, Madison, Asher, Lanie, Colter and Harper; brothers, Donnie Arment and wife Ruby, Terry Arment and wife Karen and Jeff Arment all of Shelbyville, Missouri; sister, Patsy Mettes of Shelbyville, Missouri; his partner, Jean Leftridge of the home and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jim Mettes.
Due to the current worldwide health crisis, the family will hold a public celebration of Billy’s life at a later date with full military honors.
