Health Department Announces a COVID-19 Positive Case
The Shelby County Health Department has received its fifth positive COVID-19 case. This individual is in isolation and close contacts are being contacted at this time. Please remember to contact your health care provider if you have any symptoms such as a cough, fever, fatigue, runny nose, chills, diarrhea, gastric problems.
Health Department Administrator Audrey Gough told the Herald last week that three previous individuals have recovered.
If you are identified as a close contact the health department will be calling you to let you know. If you do not receive a call from us then you are not a close contact.
Please continue to be diligent with hand washing, social distancing of six-feet or more, wear a mask when out in a crowd where you cannot maintain social distancing of six-feet and please stay home if you are having ANY of those symptoms listed above. Your primary care provider can assess you over the phone and set up testing as needed. If you have questions about testing or symptoms please call us at 573-633-2353.
