The Shelby County Health Department announced its eighth positive case of COVID-19 today. The case is community spread and the patient is quarantined at home. All close contacts have been notified and are in quarantine as well.
The Health Department staff are working in coordination with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to determine any close contacts of that individual who were possibly exposed. If there were any, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.
The Peoples Clinic in Clarence and Shelbyville are doing testing on site for two to four-day results or a doctor’s order can be obtained to take to a rapid testing site. Office hours in Clarence (660-699-2240) are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Wed. 8 a.m.-12 p.m.). The office in Shelbyville (573-633-3031) hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
