Gary Lynn Sinklear

Gary Lynn Sinklear, 70, of Clarence passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at the University Hospital in Columbia.

Gary was born on September 19, 1949, in Hannibal the son of Delbert Vernon and Joyce Erlene (Foster) Sinklear.  He was united in marriage to Helen Ilene Best on May 5, 1973 at the Shelbina Christian Church in Shelbina, She survives.

He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Dodd (Pudge) of Shelbyville, MO, and Betty Best of Gulf Port, MS; brother-in-law, Robert Strotemeyer (Pam) of Keokuk, Iowa; two uncles, Ed Sinklear (Pat) of Middletown, and Bill Sinklear (Beatrice) of California; aunts, Lola Chandler (Larry) of Warrenton, and Bonnie Meyer of Washington, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Gary Chadwell and Linda Thrasher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dwayne and Darrell Sinklear; one uncle, Tony Meyer and several in-laws.

Gary served in the United States Navy.  He worked at the Maytag factory in Clarence for 30 plus years as a supervisor.  Gary was a great neighbor and was always willing to help others in need.  He enjoyed fishing, playing board games, especially Yahtzee with Helen, and mowing his yard. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral service were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. A visitation preceded the service starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarence Methodist Church or Donor’s Choice.
