Alan Ray “Mudrick” Morrison

Alan “Mudrick” Morrison, 65, of Bethel passed away Friday, August 21 at his home.

Alan was born August 30, 1954 in Kirksville, the son of James Vernon and Janis Elmore Smoot Morrison.

Alan was always a straight shooter. He enjoyed coming to mom’s on Sunday to eat what he called his vegetables, watching sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was a member of the Shelbyville Jaycees for many years and the Bethel Baptist Church. He worked for Central Stone quarry, Hardy’s Construction, Bross, ESS, Magruder Construction and later drove for Boarmax.  He loved being with his family especially his great-niece and nephew.

He is survived by his mother; Janis Morrison; one sister, Linda Kattleman (Kevin) of Bethel; one nephew, Ryan Wiley (Katie) of Bethel; one great-niece and nephew, Andrew Wiley and Adrien Wiley of Bethel and aunts and cousins.

Alan was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. Visitation was held on Monday, August 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
