Elna Faye Carrick
Elna Faye Carrick, 66, of Hannibal passed away at her daughter’s home in Hannibal on Friday, August 21.
Elna was born on April 10, 1954 in Hannibal, the daughter of Delbert and Elna Cleone (Thomas) Young. She was united in marriage to Richard Benjamin Carrick Jr. on September 26, 1980 in Palmyra. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2017.
Elna graduated from Monroe City High School in 1972. She was a member of The Chapel in Shelbina. Elna enjoyed gardening, sewing, squirrel watching and flowers. She also loved getting to take part in her grandchildren’s birthday parties. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with her family.
She is survived by five children; Richard B. Carrick, IV and wife Lacey of Rogersville, Michael Carrick and wife Jennifer of Springfield, Jonathan Carrick of Shelbina, Vicki Carrick of Sparta, and Sarah Carrick of Hannibal; eight grandchildren; Chris, Summer, Ryan, Sharon, Hailey, Riley, Isaac and Logan; six siblings, Doris Taylor of Monroe City, Wanda Swearigin and husband Tom of Warsaw, Linda Willard and husband Howard of Monroe City, Joan Koenig and Mark of Ursa, Illinois, David Young of Monroe City and Jimmy Young of Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, John Delbert Young and one sister, Valena Dye.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, August 25 starting at 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be held in the Jacksonville Veteran’s Cemetery, in Jacksonville.
