Donna Marie Dennis, 70, of Shelbina passed away Thursday, Dec. 17.

Donna was born on Dec. 7, 1950, in Quincy, the daughter of Raymond Leland and Nettie Belle (Arisman) Thrasher.

She is survived by her two children, Doddie Dennis of La Plata and Chad Dennis (Marie) of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Kaytlin, Andrew, Izabella, Jozlan, October, and Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Ivy; four siblings, Darold R. Thrasher (Deloris) of Madison, Berna F. Kotsenburg (Nellis) of Paris, Dennis Thrasher of New Cambria and Leslie Thrasher (Connie) of Clarence; fiancé Larry Hartgrove of Shelbina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Curtis Dennis; and brother, Donnie Thrasher.

Donna was a member of Clarence Christian Church. She liked flowers, especially her house plants and gardening. Donna’s main focus was raising her kids, working at her daycare, and working at Clarence Care Center. She loved taking care of people, being with her grandkids, and fishing with her kids.

A visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 21  from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence.  Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center or Maplewood Cemetery.
