Lady Raiders Get Victory Against South Shelby

North Shelby held the lead against South Shelby on Monday, Dec. 21 to win 70-64.
The Lady Raiders got on the board as Caroline Linberger scored a bucket. Linberger had seven points in the first quarter. She tallied 18 points against SS.
NS trailed SS after junior Emma Dovin launched a 3-pointer almost two minutes into the game. The Lady Birds led 5-4. That would be the only lead South Shelby had the entire game.
At the end of the first half, NS led 37-27.
“The fast start really helped us. It gave us a little bit of a cushion. Something we could kind of fall back on,” said North Shelby coach Landon Daniel.
Dovin tallied 26 points for South Shelby, which allowed the Lady Birds to trail 39-33 with 6:27 left on the clock in the third quarter.
North Shelby senior Lalaine Treasure scored a 3-pointer extending the Lady Raiders lead to 51-38.
Both teams battled in the fourth quarter. South Shelby put 10 points on the board in four minutes. The Lady Raiders led 56-51.
North Shelby sophomore Ava Williams scored four points 30 seconds apart adding to the lead, 60-51.
Williams held the Lady Birds after she went two-for-four from the line with under 20 seconds on the clock.
Lilly Cook and Williams scored 14 and Natalie Thrasher had 13.
