Greenwell Breaks Own School Record in Javelin

Class 1 District 3 track was held Saturday, May 8 at Schuyler County.
North Shelby’s Noah Greenwell broke his own school record in javelin during the competition by throwing 37.78 meters (123ft, 11in).
Greenwell previously broke the school record on April 14 after a throw of 36.90 meters (121 feet, one inch) during a meet at Atlanta. He finished third overall.
Whitney Shinn finished second in the 100 and 400-meter dashes. She came in third in the 200 and triple jump.
Caroline Linberger received first in long jump. She placed fourth in the 100 and 400 meter races.
Also scoring points by finishing in the top 8 were:
Shot put, Marissa McEwen, sixth and Alexa Mesmer, seventh; javelin, McEwen, seventh; girls 4×100, Zoe Barrick, McEwen, Gracie von Thun and Layne Parshall, seventh; 800m, Donnie Horner, seventh and discus, McEwen, eighth.
Athletes who improved their personal records were Shinn in her 400-meter performance and McEwen in shot put.
Athletes will compete at the sectional meet Saturday, May 15 at Monroe City.
