The City of Shelbyville Board of Aldermen met Monday, May 3 at the city office at 6 p.m.
Present were Mayor Mike Vanskike, Aldermen Paul Sulser and Jerry Myers, City Clerk Gina Mesmer, City Superintendent Randy Shores, city employee Nathan Minear, Heath Hall with CCWWC, Tony Stiefel and Dennis Stiefel.
Mesmer received the certified election results with Alderman Myers and Alderman Brad Willey serving a two-year term. Alderman Willey was absent. Mesmer swore in Alderman Myers.
Hall presented a plaque to Dennis Stiefel for his years of service on the water commission board.
Stiefel was the representative for the city.
Hall talked with the board about a resolution to amend the master water supply contract. The changes will allow a simpler process for new members to join and be more affordable. All members of the CCWWC district have to approve the resolution for it to go into effect. The board agreed to the contract and Vanskike signed off on it.
Myers made a motion to approve $500 for the fireworks display and Sulser seconded.
There was no quorum, so the bills and minutes will be approved at the June meeting. A correction for the April minutes should state that Willey voted no on a pay increase for Minear.
Auditor Jamie Trent with Clevenger and Associates called in and presented the 2020 audit to the board.
The next meeting will be June 7.
