The Shelby County Farm Bureau will host its 4th annual scholarship banquet for Saturday, June 26 at the American Legion Hall in Shelbina. The event will raise scholarship money for Shelby County youth continuing their education at the post-secondary level. The scholarship is open to any current Shelby County 4-H, FFA or Farm Bureau member. Any individual or business is welcome to participate in this worthwhile event.
In its third year, the scholarship banquet continued to see a great response from the community with another successful event. Boosted by the silent and live auctions, eight $1,000 scholarships were awarded to students for their future education and the three-year total increased to $19,000. This year’s major sponsors include Crane’s Farmhouse, Hannibal Tractor, Farm Bureau Insurance Services, FCS Financial, McEwen Brothers Seed & Sidedressing and Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners.
This year the banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and social hour. At 7 p.m., there will be a catered dinner by the Knights of Columbus, and the evening will conclude with a live auction beginning at approximately 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and need to be purchased in advance.
Community support and attendance for the event will be greatly appreciated. More importantly, it will allow our youth to continue their education and personal development.
For those interested in helping sponsor the event, there are four levels of sponsorships: Platinum ($1000), Gold ($500), Silver ($250) and Bronze ($100). Each level increases a business’s recognition as a thank you of their added support. Anyone with questions regarding a sponsorship or the event, can contact the Shelbina Farm Bureau office at (573) 588-4196 or email ShelbyCoFB@gmail.com.
The scholarship banquet will be a great opportunity to interact with others involved in the agriculture industry and the community. Shelby County Farm Bureau looks forward to seeing supporters on June 26 and recognizing this year’s recipients.
