Two people were in an accident four miles east of Leonard on Saturday, July 10 at 8:25 p.m., in Shelby County.
Shawn McEwen, 43, Leonard, was westbound driving a 1987 Jeep Wrangler when he struck a deer in the roadway, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a ditch.
Passenger, Kelly J. McEwen, 43, was ejected. She was transported by Salt River Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with minor injuries.
According to the report, those involved in accident were not wearing seatbelts.
The Wrangler had minor damage.
The MSHP was also assisted by Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
