Ashley Willey and Hillary Janes find it important to give back to the community.
Owners of J&W Farmhouse, a greenhouse north of Clarence, approached the City of Shelbyville about volunteering to improve the corner of North Washington and Main Streets.
“It’s important to keep the town looking nice and we wanted to do our part,” said Willey.
The project began Monday, July 12 and was completed mid-week with the help of Ashley’s daughter, Alivia.
“With the support from our community, projects like this are possible,” Janes said.
A variety of plants were included. Some of them were hydrangeas, rose bushes and various perennials. Annual flowers were planted, as well. Landscaping river rock was purchased locally from Bichsel Spreading Service.
They planned around a red, white and blue theme.
Ashley and Hillary hope to make many other donations around the county.
