Edith Reva Finke
Edith Reva Finke, 70, of Kahoka, passed away on July 25, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Edith was born December 3, 1950 in Hannibal, the daughter of Thomas Benjamin and M. Ann (McClure) Rubison. She was united in marriage to Loyd Finke on August 6, 1971 in Shelbyville. He survives. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage August 6.
She is also survived by her children, Ardith Harmon (Jamie) of Kahoka, and David Finke (Kathleen) of Hubertus, Wis.; three grandchildren, Aynsley and Bennett Harmon and Olivia Finke; one sister-in-law, Jan Finke; and one brother-in-law, Alan Finke.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Robbie Briscoe; and sister-in-law, Lola Briscoe.
Edith graduated from Mizzou in 1972 with a Bachelor Degree in nursing. Her passion was public health and school health. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Kahoka Baptist Church, Missouri Association of School Nurses and the Delta Theta Tau Chapter of Shelbyville. She was a 4-H leader, coached cheerleading, worked at the Relay for Life and helped found the Teen Center in Shelbyville. Edith enjoyed reading and being involved in her community when her health allowed. She recently enjoyed being Grammie and spoiling her dogs.
A visitation will be held at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 28 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m, Thursday, July 29 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Teen Center of Shelbyville or Donor’s Choice.
