The EMS Teddy Bear Project was put in place by Greg and Brenda Wright. They privately presented the first two bears during the 2013 Weekend of Honor. Brenda then floated the idea of giving bears with handknit sweaters to the honoree children to the National EMS Memorial Service board. In 2014, the full teddy bear project made its debut thanks to the Region 2 team who purchased the bears to be distributed with Brenda knitting their tiny sweaters. Greg and Brenda, along with other members of the State EMS Honor Team delivered 150 Teddy Bears to Washington DC area last week. The bears are for children who have lost an EMS parent.
