Bonnie Powell, 86, of Gig Harbor, Wash., died on August 12, 2021 at St Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash. She was born February 11, 1935 in the township of Black Creek, to Landys and Ruby Tuggle. She was the eldest of five children and a 1953 graduate of Shelbyville High School. She was married to Duane Powell on May 16, 1953 and for most of her life she worked in the home. She also spent many years working as a pharmacy technician in retail pharmacies. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, both parents and her brother, Larry Tuggle. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy McKee of Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter, Karen Miller of Wentzville; a son, Ken Powell of Chama, N.M.; a sister, Shirley Turner of Eldon; a sister, Janice Krieg of Shelbina; a sister, Nyla Brabant of Neosho; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. According to her express wishes she was cremated and her ashes will be spread in New Mexico at a future date to be determined.
