Kathryn “Kathy” Jo Shores

Kathryn “Kathy” Jo Shores, 71, of Clarence, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Clarence Care Center.

Kathy was born June 21, 1950 in Quincy, Ill., the daughter of John Franklin and Lorena Mae (Phillips) Maple.  She was united in marriage to Ronald Shores on November 27, 2009 in Clarence. He survives.

She is also survived by her daughter, Shannon Toal (Tony Schafer) of Clarence; two grandchildren, Zane Schafer and Weston Schafer; one sister, Terry Maple of Ohio, and brother, Randy Maple of Germany, and several extended family members.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Delores Maple; grandmother, Clara Maple; three uncles, Ronald Maple, Claude Maple and Marion Maple; and one aunt, Juanita Maple.

Kathy attended church services at the Clarence Care Center. She enjoyed singing and listening to music. She taught Sunday school for many years and would often teach her grandchildren after Sunday school was over. Kathy enjoyed crafting, listening to the Gaither Vocal Band and watching TV, especially sci-fi movies such as Aliens and Godzilla. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 22, at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Atlanta.
