The Bethel Community Center held a fundraiser Saturday, October 23. A free will donation was collected for the meal served and a fun-filled evening of live music and skits was performed. Hee Haw Skits and live music took place for approximately 200 spectators to enjoy the show. According to Liz Miles, $2,800 has been raised so far. The Bethel Community Center is a non-profit organization that strives to meet the needs of the community by having available a multipurpose building to be used by all ages. The BCC is operated on funds brought in by donations, fundraisers and small grants when available. Funds will be used to keep the insurance and monthly utilities paid and to help payoff a USDA loan acquired in 2006 when the building was updated in order to re-open for community use. There is also current need for work to be done on the heating system to get it running for the upcoming winter months. For more information on how you can donate to or be involved with the BCC, contact Liz Miles at 660-651-3505 or email jemiles@marktwain.net.
