Celebrating Christmas This Weekend
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will ride a fire truck to the courthouse in Shelbyville on Saturday, December 4. Kids are encouraged to come tell Santa and Mrs. Claus what they want for Christmas from 4 to 5:45 p.m. The Shelbyville Woman’s Club is sponsoring the event.
The first annual Shelbyville Christmas Parade will take place at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at the Moonshiner Hall, travel to the four-way and make its way around town. The south side of the courthouse street will be blocked off to vehicles, but open to those who wanting to sit or stand for parade.
Those wanting to be in the parade need to be at the Moonshiner Hall at 5 p.m. Side-by-sides, golf carts, cars, trucks, semis, tractors, basically anything with wheelers can be in the parade. MUST be decorated to take part in the parade.

Sunday the annual “Christmas in Bethel” celebration will be held in Bethel. Vendors will be set up in the Colony Barn from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A 2 p.m. a Colony Walking Home Tour will begin. Tickets are available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A vesper service will begin at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, followed by a candlelight walk to the Historic Bandstand for the official lighting of Bethel.
