Milan grabbed a 12-2 lead during December 4, 2021 girls third place action with North Shelby. The battle of fifth ranked teams in their respective class tightened up with a 13-4 run late in the first quarter to a 16-15 Wildcat lead.
Milan (3-1) was able to open up a 33-26 halftime lead to a 46-34 third quarter margin. North Shelby closed on a 13-8 run, but the strong Wildcat third quarter held up for a 54-47 win. North Shelby (1-2) went 8-10 at the free throw line. Milan was 5-7 from the charity stripe.
Missouri State University signee Cady Pauley poured in a game high 38 Milan points. Emma Whitlock, Emerson Pauley and Avery Pickering were next in line with four Wildcat points each.
Natalie Thrasher led North Shelby with 12 points. Addy Uhlmeyer scored 10 points. Ceairra Kirby was the third Lady Raider in double figures with 11 points. Meg Shively and Ava Williams added seven points each.
Lady Raiders vs. Clark County
North Shelby beat the Lady Indians in the first round of the Tri-Rivers Classic on Tuesday, November 30, 56-43.
Williams led NS with 17 points. Shively tallied 11.
Williams had six steals and 12 rebounds on the night. Junior Thrasher came away with five steals.
NS scored 27 points in the second half. Clark County tallied 23.
North Shelby vs. Schulyer County
No. 1 ranked Schuyler County beat the Lady Raiders 63-26 on Thursday, December 2.
The Lady Rams scored 34 points in the first half. NS only tallied nine. The most points the Lady Raiders scored in a period was 12.
Ceairra Kirby scored seven of the 26 points in the game.
