INDIAN LAND, SC – Mr. David Jerome Copenhaver, 77, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was born July 29, 1944, in Shelbyville, son of the late James Luther Copenhaver and the late Agnes Bichsel Copenhaver and was the loving husband of Sally Murray Copenhaver.
From humble beginnings on a Missouri farm, Dave built an amazing life. He began expanding his horizons early in life when he enlisted in the Army and served on a military installation in Connecticut.
While in the Army, he met and married the love of his life. After his military service ended, he returned to Missouri to pursue further education as an electrical engineer. Quick with a smile and a laugh, Dave had a successful career and traveled the world, but his real passion was his family. He poured his life into his children and grandchildren. Dave was an avid golfer and an active member of the Pineville Nazarene Church. Dave passed as he lived – on his own terms. In his final moments, he was so grateful for the blessings that God had placed in his life.
Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years; two daughters, Laurie Copenhaver Klingenberg (Michael), and Lisa Copenhaver; one son, David T. Copenhaver (Lisa); six grandchildren, Alan Copenhaver, Samuel Klingenberg, Domonique Snyder, Nathan Copenhaver, Daniel Copenhaver, and Brooke Copenhaver; two brothers, William Copenhaver (Sharon) and Stanley Copenhaver (Rene); one sister, Delores Threlkeld; and a brother-in-law, Howard Roberts.
Mr. Copenhaver was preceded in death by his parents, James and Agnes Copenhaver; a sister, Donna Roberts; and a brother-in-law, Terry Threlkeld.
The family of Mr. Copenhaver will hold a private service at a later date.
