The Shelbyville Board of Aldermen met in a special meeting Thursday, December 23, 2021, at city office at 10 a.m. to approve the contractor for the demolition project. Present were Mayor Mike Vanskike, Aldermen Jerry Myers, Rob Southers and Paul Sulser, City Clerk Gina Mesmer and Okey Stoneburner.
The meeting was opened by Mayor Vanskike. Stoneburner addressed some of his concerns. Stoneburner stated his concerns about the low bid from Weideman Construction and wanted to make sure that it was the lowest and most responsible bid. The board reassured Stoneburner that Wiedeman Construction was a responsible bidder and had turned in all necessary paperwork. Community Development Block Grant has received the debar report from Department of Natural Resources and there are no issues.
