The Salt River Ambulance District Board met Wednesday, February 16 at the ambulance base in Shelbyville. The meeting was brought to order by Chairman Phil Leatherman.
Kieth Pantaleo, Director, reported on information he had received regarding health insurance for employees. The board voted to go with Mike, Keith’s proposal.
Wages for PRN Medics was discussed. Pantaleo recommended raising their pay to be more competitive with other agencies. The board voted to increase their pay to $25 per hour. The board also voted to raise the director’s salary to $60,000 per year, effective with the next pay period.
Pantaleo had attended a meeting regarding the organization of a Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. The board voted to pursue joining the Chamber.
Copies of a legal memorandum from the district’s attorney reviewing the finding that Emergency Medical Services were not included in mandatory COVID-19 vaccination were given to each of the board members.
