Wanda Charlene Friedman
Charlene Friedman, 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, Mo. Charlene was born June 29, 1938 in Shelby County, the daughter of Isaac Newton and Viola Mae (Humphrey) Hartgrove. She was united in marriage to James Freidman on August 31, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shelbina. He survives.
Charlene is also survived by her niece, Teresa Snyder (Barry) of Fayette; nephew, Randy Lee Hartgrove (Cindy) of Jacksonville, MO; brother, Larry Hartgrove of Shelbina; three great-nieces and one great- nephew; four great-great-nieces and eight great-great-nephews; several cousins and her family at Salt River Community Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joyce Hartgrove.
Charlene enjoyed playing cards and playing on the computer (especially Facebook). She was proud to have been crowned the Valentine’s Day Queen at Salt River and she and Jim had also been crowned the Senior Citizen Prom King and Queen. Charlene loved motoring in her scooter and especially loved her dog, Bo.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. Visitation was held Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The burial was held at Shelbina Cemetery following the service.
