An election for the various municipalities will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
The City of Clarence has two propositions on its ballot. Proposition No. 1 asks Shall the City of Clarence, Missouri, be authorized to forego annual elections if the number of candidates who have filed for a particular office is equal to the number of positions in the office to be filled by the election.
Proposition No. 2 asks Shall there be a thirty cent ($.30) increase in the tax levy on one hundred dollars valuation for general municipal purposes for four (4) years in the City of Clarence?
The City of Hunnewell also has a question. Shall the City of Hunnewell, Missouri be authorized to forego annual elections if the number of candidates who have filed for a particular office is equal to the number of positions in the office to be filled by the election?
Voters in the City of Shelbyville are being asked the following question?
Shall the City of Shelbyville re-new the thirty ($.30) tax levy increase, per one hundred dollars (($100.0) assessed valuation, for general municipal purposes, for a four-year period in the City of Shelbyville, Missouri?
City Offices
Bethel: (Three trustees to be elected) John A. Malcarne, Helen Farran, Jon R. Miles, Bill Reitz and Mike Crane have filed for these positions.
Clarence: Dorothy Lanpher has filed for mayor. (Two aldermen at Large to be elected for two- year terms) Those that have filed for these positions are Melissa Ellyson, Dennis Williams and Myrna Carothers.
Hunnewell: Carl Bastian and Alisha Hill have filed for mayor. (Two aldermen at large to be elected) Jason Leake, Terence burke, Thomas L. Mayes and Vonda E. Trivette have filed for these positions.
Leonard: (Three trustees to be elected) Election will be by write-in.
Shelbina: Al Dimmitt has filed for mayor; Jeff Brown has filed for city marshal; Alan Denham has filed for alderman in the East Ward and Chad Wharton has filed for alderman in the West Ward.
Shelbyville: Michael Vanskike has filed for mayor; Robert Southers has filed for alderman in the North Ward. The position for alderman in the South Ward will be filed by write-in.
Schools
South Shelby R-IV School District: (Two directors to be elected) Wade West, Stewart Hatcher and Scott Gough have filed for these positions.
Monroe City R-1 School District: (Two directors to be elected) Brad Williams, Roger Pennewell and Marvin V. Robinson have filed for these positions.
Marion County R-11 School District: (Two directors to be elected) Beau Britt in the only one that has filed.
Atlanta School District: (Two directors to be elected) Brian Bender, Charles K. Watson, Valerie Peavler and Justin Nelson have filed for these positions.
Shelbina Fire Protection District: (Two members to be elected) These positions will be filed by write-in.
