The Mid-America Chuck Wagon Roundup will gather Saturday, June 25 at the Old Threshers’ grounds north of Shelbina. The event is being hosted by the Northeast Missouri Old Threshers Association.
Grounds will open at 10 a.m. for anyone wishing to enjoy the camaraderie and experience of chuck wagons from across the Midwest as they prepare and cook a meal over a wood fire that will be served at 5 p.m.
Free-will donations for the meal and entertainment will go to benefit the “Great River Honor Flight.”
Visitors can take a ride in the afternoon on the 1923 Alco steam train at the NEMO Village. Cowboy poetry and western music provided by the Missouri Cowboy Poets Assoc. and sponsored in part by the Missouri Arts Council is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Mercys Bridge Band will begin their show at 6 pm.
The public is invited to bring a lawn chair and plan to come early and stay late.
