Mike was born June 19, 1947, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Glendell Norman and Laura Jean (Mahoney) Rainey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a wife.
Mike graduated and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and Dessert Storm. He was a member of the American Legion, where he was a member of the Honor Guard for many years. He enjoyed aviation, fishing, model building, and target shooting.
Mike is survived by one son Michael Rainey of Shelbina, and one step daughter, Christie Buckman (Steven) of Macon, grandchildren; Gage and Chance Rainey of Shelbina; step grandchildren Tawsha Kinzle, Drew Mefford, and Bailey Mefford; great grandchild, Hayden Rainey; and three step great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Kinzle, Jeremiah Kinzle, and Elijah Kinzle; and girlfriend, Dorothy Huston of Macon, MO; and two sisters, Karen Dutton of Hallsville and Karla Kiser (Alan) of Moberly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. The funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 376.
