There has been a long history of drainage issues on Route N in Shelby County.
MoDOT Communication Manager Marisa Ellison said via email on Friday, July 1, 2022, MoDOT is working to make drainage improvements that will help get the road opened faster during flooding.
According to Ellison, MoDOT has a six-month contact with Klocke, out of Palmyra, Missouri, to install drainage pipe to improve the drainage on Route N. The contractors have two and half months left on the contract, so the project will be completed before then.
Once a date is determined, MoDOT will send out a press release alerting motorists to the traffic impacts of the work area.
