MSHP Report – Troop B
A rollover accident killed a Brashear man Thursday, September 1, on Highway H, three miles south of Leonard at 1:32 p.m. in Shelby County.
According to the report, Curtis L. Brazel, 60, was southbound, driving a 2009 International, when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Brazel was pronounced dead at 1:48 p.m. by acting Shelby County Coroner Arron Fredrickson.
Occupant, Justin E. Ballanger, 24, Green Castle, was transported by Salt River Ambulance District to Northeast Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Those in the accident were not wearing seatbelts.
The International was totaled and towed by Shelbyville Auto.
The MSHP was assisted by Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Shelby County Fire and Rescue and Salt River Ambulance.
