An election for the various municipalities in Shelby County will be held on Tuesday, April 4. Filing for open board positions took place in December. Candidates for some of these offices are listed below:
City Offices: Trustees and aldermen are elected for two-year terms.
Village of Bethel: Aaron Staples and John A. Malcarne filed for trustee. There are two positions open.
City of Hunnewell: Mark Shuck, Jerrod Porter, Karen D. Long and Cheryl A. Waller filed for alderman at large. There are two positions open.
City of Shelbina: The two incumbents, Curt Hines in the East Ward and Jim “Babe” Simpson in the West Ward filed for re-election.
City of Shelbyville: Jerry Myers filed for re-election in the South Ward. No one filed for the North Ward seat.
School Board: Directors are elected for three-year terms.
Shelby County R-IV School District: Joshua L. Miles, Darin Eleazarraraz, Kendel M. Wood, Lindsey Perotti and Rebecca Hammond filed for this board. There are three positions available.
Salt River Nursing Home: Ann Neubauer and Kathy Lackey filed for the District #2 (Salt River East) position. Sam Hawkins filed for District #3 (All of Tiger Fork and North River).
