Raiders Earn Wins Against Brashear, Marceline

North Shelby claimed a 57-49 victory against the Brashear Tigers on Monday, January 23, 2023.
The Raiders were led by JD Rich with 26 points and Jade Daniel with 13.
North Shelby (7-10) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after Rich splashed a three and Brendyn McDaniel put in a bucket.
Brashear scored a bucket, but Rich’s back-to-back shots gave North Shelby a 10-2 advantage. The Tigers added two points to the board after going 2-for-2 from the charity line.
Rich, Daniel and Gabe Orr each scored two points extending the Raiders lead to 16-4.
Brashear fought back and only trailed 16-14 after scoring 10 points within two minutes. Daniel put in a shot and was fouled. He was good for the 3-point play. Brashear scored with just a second on the clock. NS held a 19-16 advantage.
Raiders vs. Marceline
North Shelby defeated Marceline 77-59 on Friday, January 27, 2023.
The Raiders (8-10) were led by Brendyn McDaniel with 24. Jade Daniel earned 22 and JD Rich had 18 points.
During the first quarter, the Raiders had a three-point lead, 19-16.
McDaniel claimed seven points while Daniel had six. Rich scored four and Gabe Orr had a bucket.
Marceline trailed at halftime 38-34.
In the second quarter, Rich had seven points. Daniel had six. He was the only Raider to go to the free throw line. He went 2-for-2. McDaniel had four points and Orr had two.
The Raiders outscored Marceline 19-3 in the third period. McDaniel scored eight points. He had two 3’s in the quarter. Rich had five points. Daniel had four and Orr had two points.
The Raiders scored double digits again in the final period. Out of the 20 points, Daniel claimed six while McDaniel had five. Cole Browning hit a three-pointer. Rich, Aden Johnston and Oren Vanskike each had a bucket.
As a team, the Raiders went 5-for-8 from the charity line. McDaniel went 3-for-4 and Daniel went 2-for-3.
