At approximately 8:09 a.m., on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the Shelbina Police Department responded to a report of an alleged assault that occurred in the 600 block of North Center Street.
Upon arrival, officer(s) began an investigation into the incident. The investigation revealed that an individual had been struck by a motor vehicle earlier that morning, sustaining physical injury, however the individual declined medical evaluation at the time, advising they would seek treatment later.
During the investigation the suspect was identified as Courtney D. Brown, age 32, of Shelbina, Missouri. Officer(s) contacted Brown and took her into custody for the Class D Felony of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. Brown was transported to the Shelby County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
Information was submitted to the Shelby County Prosecutors Office and formal charges were filed for the Class D Felony of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. The Shelby County Associate Circuit Court issued a warrant for Brown, who remains in custody in lieu of a $25,000.00 cash bond.
