The South Shelby Lady Birds hosted Elsberry on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and lost 6-1.
The Lady Birds were held to only two hits offensively.
Elsberry took the early lead in the top of the first inning with two runs.
South Shelby’s lone run came in the bottom of the first inning when Sofia Eleazarraraz led off with a single, stole second base and eventually scored on a groundout.
Elsberry scored two runs in the top of the third inning, and single runs in each the fourth and sixth innings.
Eleazarraraz led the Lady Birds offense with a hit and two stolen bases.
Cassidy Curtis pitched seven innings, allowing six runs, three earned runs, on four hits. She walked four batters and struck out two.
