Mary Ann Geisendorfer

Mary Ann Geisendorfer, 82, of Bethel, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, Mo.

Mary Ann was born on April 17, 1941 in Bethel, Mo., the daughter of Claude and Nellie Irene (Haffner) Dodd. Mary Ann was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. She graduated from the NEMO Teacher’s College in 1962. She then taught in the Lewis County Schools for seven years and then an additional 25 years at North Shelby. She was a dedicated teacher who loved her students and always spoke fondly of her years as an educator. Mary Ann was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, and enjoyed western movies and getting her hair and nails done. She loved her family and always looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s events and activities. Through Mary Ann’s life, her family had so many beautiful, funny, and heartwarming memories to cherish forever.

Mary Ann is survived by her two children, Dee Wiley (Gordon) of Arbela, Mo. and Michael Geisendorfer (Stacy) of Shelbyville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jason Findling (Brandi), of Germany; Gregory Wiley (Sarah) of College Grove, Tenn., Cassie Geisendorfer of Macon, Mo., Ethan Geisendorfer and Jake Geisendorfer of Shelbyville, Mo.,; three great-grandchildren, Felicity Findling, Elianna and Isaiah Wiley; sisters-in-law, Leda Dodd and Mary Dodd, both of Shelbyville, Mo.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of former students.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, George Dodd, Eugene Dodd and Leland “Pudge” Dodd.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, followed with the burial in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, north of Bethel, Mo.
