Shelbina Villa:

Monday, we got beautified with Marva Maddox fixing up everyone’s hair, while activity director Cyndi beautified their nails! Several of the ladies are thinking Spring, as they chose pastels and glitter for their polish choice. We took a break in getting beautified to have Bible Study with the Bethel Christian Church. We listened to the word of God and even had beautiful piano accompaniment by Emmalynn Hawkins. We played presidential riddles after lunch in celebration of Presidents Day! Can you answer this riddle? Founding father and the second president’s name, my correspondence with my wife brought fame. Who am I? The answer is John Adams! Dorothy Gill and Anna Barton were our trivia buffs, answering the most riddles about our Presidents of the great USA!

Tuesday, we began the morning with Stack Party, AKA giant Jenga! We tried to get our tower as tall as we could, but it fell twice in the process of us trying to keep it going. We never got a true count on how tall we were able to make the tower. Activity Director Cyndi thought it got to 22-23 levels before toppling over.  We played a fun game of Apple Grapple after lunch. We took turns saying a word to a category and if you could not think of a word, then you were out. Our word wonder for the day was Dorothy Gill!

We played a fun game of Either This or That Wednesday morning. We all sat in the sunroom and discussed which option we would rather pick. Here is a fun for instance; Either you could have a magic flying carpet, or you can have a see-through submarine. Once someone said which of the two, they would pick, Cyndi would ask them why. It was interesting to listen to everyone pick an either or and why they chose that option over the other. We took to the town after lunch and went up to Dollar General here in town. We shopped till we dropped and came back with several items that we needed/wanted.

Thursday, we played balloon volleyball. We had two teams, team one and two. Team one consisted of Pat Vannoy, Linda Barton, Nora Utterback, Anna Barton, and Lydia Gilbert. Team two consisted of Marge Williams, Jerri Hewitt, Rogers Hewitt, Dorothy Gil, and Janet Bichsel.  The balloon was batted, swatted, and bounced from side to side. It was a competitive competition and a couple of people even tried to spike the balloon, but the other team was able to block! Team one took the gold with 25 points, while team two only had 16 points. We went dice bowling for the afternoon activity. Lydia Gilbert won first place with 103 points. Pat Vannoy came in second with 62 points. Janet Bichsel came in third place with 58 points.

We played Hillbilly Golf Friday morning. We all tried to ring our string on the highest point rung. Pete Kendrick took first place with 2 points. Pat Vannoy came in second with 19 points. Jerri Hewitt came in third with 15 points. We had out monthly Bingo birthday party after lunch. We celebrated a few birthdays!  Our monthly Bingos were Faye Poore on the 7th and she is 94 years young! Linda Barton had her birthday on the 14th and she turned 76 years young. Nora Utterback’s birthday was on the 15th and she turned 92 years young. The kitchen made a delicious cake for everyone to enjoy! Once we finished our cake, we started playing. Pat Vannoy had the most bingos for the afternoon winning 3 times!

The staff at the Villa would like to remind you to please stay at home if you are feeling sick, but if you are feeling well, we love to have visitors!  We hope you have a blessed week and please remember to visit us on our Facebook page to see everyone in action! God Bless!
