Macon Tip Line Leads To Drug Bust
Macon Police Department News Releases, 25 July 2013:
On June 24, 2013, Officers of the Macon Police Department applied for and received a search warrant for narcotics for a residence in the 500 block of Pine Crest Dr., Macon, MO. At approximately 1840 hours, 15 officers from the Police Department, Macon County Sheriffs Department and the North Missouri Drug Task Force executed the search warrant.
Upon search of the residence, officers located and seized a large amount of marijuana inside the residence. The marijuana was packaged in individual bags and prepared for distribution. Some cash was also seized by the officers.
Inside the residence, officers made contact with 4 adults and 3 children. As a result of the investigation, a 35 year old male of Macon was taken into custody for: possession of controlled substance (over 35g of marijuana) persistent offender, possession of controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute, maintaining a public nuisance, possession of certain weapons prohibited and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers also arrested a 24 year old male of Macon for violation of bond conditions and possession of marijuana. Both subjects were processed and turned over to the Macon County Jail pending formal charges.
Chief Olinger stated, “This investigation is in part a result of an anonymous tip which was received on our new TIPS Hotline implemented last month. It is also a result of hard work and dedication by a number of officers working proactively together as a team.”
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
