Woman Faces Felonies After Alleged Gun Threat

A Shelbina woman faces two felony charges after allegedly pointing a handgun at another person during a dispute involving children.

Destinee L. Bailey, 31, of Shelbina, was arrested on July 14, 2026, by Shelbina Police Department.

According to a probable cause statement filed July 15, another person was standing beside Bailey’s vehicle and talking with a passenger while Bailey was seated in the driver’s seat. The PC statement says Bailey allegedly removed a Ruger LC .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun from a bag and pointed it at the person. Bailey allegedly said she would kill the person if the person attempted to take the children. Minor children were reportedly seated in the back of the vehicle during the confrontation.

Bailey is being charged in case number 26SB-CR00069 with unlawful use of a weapon, subsection 4 – exhibiting, a Class E felony and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony. Charges were filed by Shelby County Prosecutor Jordan Force.

Bailey is being held at the Macon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

All suspects are innocent unless proven guilty in court.
