The Lady Raiders went 2-0 last week in their match up against Schuyler County and South Shelby.
NS vs. Schuyler County
North Shelby defeated the Lady Rams 5-2 on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Harper Copenhaver drove in four runs on two hits to help lead NS past SC.
Copenhaver tripled in the first inning, scoring two runs and singled in the second, earning two runs.
Addy Uhlmeyer struck out 10 batters.
NS (10-6-2) jumped out to lead in the top of the inning after Copenhaver tripled and Riley Stoneburner singled. The Lady Raiders had a 3-0 advantage.
North Shelby added two more runs in the second after a single by Copenhaver.
Emme Jones and Uhlmeyer each stole multiple bases for NS. As a team the Lady Raiders had six stolen bases.
Lady Raiders vs. South Shelby
North Shelby and South Shelby competed in the annual Pink Out Game on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
The two teams raised $1,200.00 through t-shirt sales to donate to the local Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
NS opened the scoring in the first after Addy Uhlmeyer homered to leftfield scoring two runs.
A sacrifice bunt by North Shelby’s Emelia Flores extended the Lady Raiders lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
NS added one run in the third after Uhlmeyer scored after tagging up, making the score 4-0.
Uhlmeyer earned the win for NS as she gave up six hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking none.
South Shelby’s Callie McWilliams took the loss for the Lady Birds striking out out four and walking five. She gave up six runs on nine hits.
Marissa McEwen led NS with four hits in four at bats. Uhlmeyer and Flores each drove in two runs. Adrien Wiley and Bella Donath led the team with two bases on balls each.
