The Shelbyville Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Monday, March 4, 2024 at city office at 6 pm. Present were Mayor Mike Vanskike, Aldermen Brad Willey, Jerry Myers, Gene Boyles and Rob Southers. Gina Mesmer, Randy Shores and Nathan Minear.
Mayor Vanskike opened the meeting at 6 pm.
Alderman Willey made a motion to approve the February minutes and Alderman Boyles seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Alderman Southers made a motion to approve the bills. Alderman Willey seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The board discussed mowing for the summer. An ad will be put in the paper for summer mowing.
The board discussed a contract with Klingner Engineering for engineering report for the water lines. The report will cost $12,800.00. Alderman Willey made a motion to approve the contract and Alderman Boyles seconded the motion. To apply for a grant with Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments we have to have a low to moderate income survey sent to all residents. Gina will get with Mark Twain and start the process for the surveys.
Gina talked with Ashley Willey about her greenhouse. If the city wants to put in flowers or shrubs we can buy the material and they will plant it for us. Alderman Myers made a motion to spend $200.00 for the front of the office. Alderman Boyles seconded the motion. Motion passed with Alderman Willey abstaining.
The next meeting will be April 1st at 6 pm.
Alderman Southers made a motion to adjourn at 6:20 pm and Alderman Boyles seconded the motion.
