Lady Raiders Season Ends Against Community

The Lady Raiders season came to an end against Community in the Class 1 District 4 semi-final matchup on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
NS lost to the Lady Trojans, 10-6.
Community was first to get on the board in the first inning when an error brought in a Lady Trojan.
North Shelby’s Emma Christine hit a ground ball and reached on an error by secnd baseman to start the third inning.
Emme Jones singled on a line drive to right field and Christine came home. The game was tied, 1-1.
To begin the fifth inning, Christine was hit by a pitch. Sadie Gander singled on a hard ground ball to right field. Jones tripled on a hard ground ball to center field and two Lady Raiders scored. NS took its first lead, 3-1.
Addy Uhlmeyer was hit a by a pitch. She advanced to second on a defensive indifference and Jones scored on a steal of home. The Lady Raiders held a 4-1 advantage.
A home run to start the bottom of the inning put another run on the board for the Lady Trojans. The score would be 4-3 after a single by a Lady Trojan brought in a runner.
Community tied the game after hitting a ground ball and an error by a Lady Raider. The Lady Trojans took a 7-4 lead after scoring on a passed ball and a hit to right field brought in two runs.
In the bottom of the sixth, Community added their last three runs of the game.
The Lady Raiders added their last two runs in the game in the top of the seventh inning. Uhlmeyer’s sacrifice to right field brought in Gander. Harper Copenhaver singled on a fly ball to center field and Jones scored.
Uhlmeyer had nine strike outs in the game. She only walked two batters.
The Lady Raiders ended their season 15-8.
NS vs. Canton
The Lady Raiders took down Canton in the first round of the Class 1 District 4 tournament on Thursday, October 17, 2-1.
NS scored their two runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Emelia Flores doubled on a fly ball to center field. Emma Christine was then hit by a pitch.
Sadie Gander singled on a ground ball to center field and Flores scored.
Emme Jones singled on a ground ball to center field and Christine came home.
Canton’s only run was in the top of the fifth inning.
Isabella Jones led the Lady Raiders with two hits. Jones, Clara Uhlmeyer, Addy Uhlmeyer, Flores and Gander each had one hit.
Addy Uhlmeyer had eight strike outs in the game. She only walked two batters.
