Register to Vote by March 11

The last day to register to be eligible to vote in the April 7 election is March 11.  If you move from one state to another, you must register in your new state.  If you have moved from county to county in the same state you may vote at the Central Polling Location on Election Day.  This location is found in the County Clerk’s Office in the Courthouse.  You may register at age 17 ½ and vote once you turn 18.  When registering, please remember to do so with the County or City Clerk, Health Department and Social Service offices or Department of Revenue Driver’s License Office.  You may also do a fillable printable mail in registration on line with the Secretary of State’s Office at www.sos.mo.gov.  When your registration is received in the county clerk’s office, you will in turn, receive correspondence back from the county clerk.  If you are unsure, you should always confirm it with us.   

Absentee Voting

Absentee ballot Voting will be available beginning Tuesday, February 24, no excuse absentee voting starts March 24th.  Absentee voting will be available in the office daily through April 3 8 am-4 pm, April 6th 8 am -5 pm with a lunch break 12-1 and on Saturday, April 4 from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. Applications for a “mail out” ballot must be received in the County Clerk’s office by Wednesday, March 25, 2026.  By law, they are not allowed to mail them out past that date.  Absentee voters must indicate the reason for voting absentee.  In person absentee voting will continue through April 6.      

Absentee ballots are also available to persons who are permanently disabled or unable to get out of their homes easily.  You must indicate your reason for voting absentee.  This can be done each election or you may sign up to be contacted for every election that applies to you.  Please ask about this.

A bi-partisan team of judges will go out to the nursing homes in the county. This date will be set at a later date.
