CLARENCE, MO — Local student Alivia Willey, a 7th grader at South Shelby Middle School, earned top honors at the Miss Missouri Outdoors State Pageant, held October 4–5 at Peach Tree Farms in Eolia, Missouri. Originally registered for the Junior category, Alivia confidently stepped up to compete in the Teen division due to turning 13 in February 2026 — and went on to win the Teen Title.
Representing Shelby County, Alivia impressed judges with her maturity, stage presence, and musical talent — a standout saxophone performance that showcased both skill and personality. Her win reflects not just talent, but leadership, service, and an adventurous spirit that sets her apart.
“I know I can be a great leader for those around me and for my state by working hard and setting a good example,” said Willey, who volunteers regularly at her local theater, helps with concessions at school sporting events, and enjoys mentoring young children during church youth group activities.
An active student, Alivia participates in softball, basketball, cheerleading, go-kart racing, fishing, and target practice with her .22 rifle. She also enjoys traveling, shopping, and recently named a family trip to Silver Dollar City in Branson as her favorite Missouri memory. She hopes her school will one day add volleyball to the roster so she can try that too.
Alivia has big dreams for her future, with plans to join the armed forces and eventually work in law enforcement K-9 units, protecting and serving her country.
“She’s wise beyond her years,” said Sydney Spiller, Director of the Miss Missouri Out-doors Pageant. “Alivia is always the first to jump in and try something new, and she leads by example. It’s rare to see that kind of maturity and initiative in someone so young. She’s going to do big things — and Missouri should be proud.”
The Miss Missouri Outdoors Pageant is a one-of-a-kind event focused on outdoor education, leadership development, and conservation awareness. Contestants in four age groups — Junior, Teen, Miss, and Ms. — participate in hands-on outdoor workshops like fishing, archery, interview skills, and public speaking, in addition to formal competitions in Interview, Talent/Speech, Evening Gown, and On-Stage Question and Answer.
The pageant promotes Missouri Tourism, Natural Resources, History, and a strong love for outdoor recreation. The event is hosted each year at the scenic Peach Tree Farms and includes fun fall traditions like a Haunted Hay Ride.
She will hold this title from fall/winter 2025 until spring/summer of 2026.
