Firefighters Respond to Natural-Cover Fire

  The Shelbina Fire Protection District responded to a natural-cover fire at 9:59 a.m. on Friday, April 3. 

  The fire was located west of North Fork, at the intersection of Highway PP and FF in Monroe County. 

  Upon arrival, firefighters found a small grass fire and a stack of large hay bales on fire. 

  Firefighters, with the help of a skidsteer loader, were able to separate the burning bales from the stack.

  Firefighters were able to save nine bales. Approximately 15 bales were destroyed. 

  SFPD was on the scene for two hours.
