A planned traffic stop led to the arrest of a Clarence resident.
Shelbina City Marshal Jerry Fenton told the Herald on Monday, June 15, that on Friday, June 12 at approximately 9 p.m. at Dollar General in Shelbina, a combined operation with the Northeast Missouri Drug Task Force culminated in the arrest of Donald R. Williams, 46, of Clarence.
Williams was taken into custody for attempting to manufacture a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia (precursors methamphetamines).
Also detained was Heither Williams, 42, of Clarence. H. Williams was released with charges pending.
Agencies also conducted a consent search of a residence on Shelby County Rd. 416.
“Our partnership and cooperation with the Northeast Missouri Drug Task Force and other agencies is crucial in detecting, investigating and solving crime,” said Fenton.
