Earl Thomas Walker, 96, of Macon passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon.

Earl was born on March 1, 1924, in Clarence, the son of Ervin Talmage and Virginia “Virgie” Melinda (Cross) Walker. He was united in marriage to Eula Mae Dove on Oct. 25, 1947, in Clarence. Earl served as a “Buck” Sergeant in the Army during World War II. Earl was an active member of the United Methodist Church, a founding member of the Clarence VFW, member of the Missouri Rural Letter Carriers Association, and was involved in several civic service organizations. He loved traveling, studying history of the Civil War, genealogy, fishing, gardening, family gatherings, and was always the life of the party.

Earl is survived by two children, Sherrie Claggett (Sam) of Lake Winnebago, and Terrence Walker (Ruth Ann) of Clarence, three grandchildren, Shalyn Claggett (Matt) of Starkville, Miss., Anna Blackford (Corey) of Macon, Ryan Walker (Ana-Claire Ellen) of Callao, four great grandchildren, Lane, Emma, Jet and Bell, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eula Mae Walker on Dece. 1, 2020, and one sister, Erlene Schafer.

A private family funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 22 at  Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Pastor Delbert Earlywine officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence.
